atmqty Manual: AtmQty Grid

The latitude-longitude grid is defined on a sphere. It does not have to be either gaussian or uniformly spaced, but it must be rectilinear, with each row of the grid array having a fixed latitude and each column having a fixed longitude.

The grid can be global or of limited domain. Vectors lat, lon, and lev can be one or more elements in size. Of course, if the domain vectors are only one element, certain calculations (e.g. curl) are not possible.
